This week’s Song of the Week was shared by Jasmine Marshall:
“‘Invisible’ is an original song about my experiences with the mental health system and sanism. In this song, I express my experiences with naively doing what I’ve been told to feel better and trying to do everything ‘right’, only to wind up feeling exactly the same, if not worse. Eventually, I come to the conclusion that those who are preaching this advice must be living in an entirely different reality than me, and will never understand or believe me. The best I can do is play along and perform the behavior they are asking of me while fading into invisibility, hoping to become numb and therefore immune to the pain this causes me.”

Thank you for sharing this powerful writing. It’s a shame that I had to look so hard to find it. It should have a prominent link. I think a lot of survivors will feel the experiences the song brings to light.
