The Hearing Voices Movement: A Movement of Stories, a History of the Movement

From Mad in Portugal: There are many ways to present the Hearing Voices Movement. Precisely because it is a movement, neither its boundaries nor its structure are rigid. A movement should be dynamic, organic, alive. This is clear both from the changes observed throughout its almost four decades of existence, and from the differences between its branches, from continent to continent, from country to country, from city to city, from group to group. However, Eduardo Leão, founder of one of the first groups of voice listeners in Brazil and current member of the Intervoice board, in one of the many conversations in which he challenges and expands my thinking, pointed out something that I also believe to be fundamental: this is a movement of stories.
